These spicy Cajun salmon bites are perfectly seasoned and baked to perfection, making them a delicious and easy appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets
skinless
cut into 2.5cm / 1″ cubes (~600 – 700g / 1.2 – 1.4lb total)
2 tsp paprika
3/4 tsp cooking salt / kosher salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
optional for slight spiciness
2 1/2 tsp brown sugar
tightly packed
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 240°C/460°F (220°C fan-forced).
- Lightly scrunch up foil and place it on the tray, folding the edges to secure.
- Mix the Cajun spice ingredients in a bowl and then toss in the salmon cubes to coat.
- Spread the coated salmon bites evenly on the foil, ensuring they are well spaced out.
- Bake for 12 minutes without turning, then remove from the tray to prevent further cooking.
Notes
For substitutions, smoked paprika can be used for regular paprika, and white sugar can replace brown sugar. The salmon can be served with various sauces and garnishes or over rice bowls.
