Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the melted salted butter, flour, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt to make the crust, mixing until crumbly.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form an even layer.
  • Bake the crust for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • In a separate bowl, melt the remaining salted butter and whisk in the maple syrup, brown sugar, heavy cream, eggs, salt, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Stir in the pecan halves and mix until evenly coated.
  • Pour the pecan filling over the pre-baked crust and spread evenly.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until set.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.
  • For optional whipped cream, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form, and serve alongside the bars topped with flaky sea salt.

Notes

Make sure to allow the bars to cool completely for easier slicing. The whipped cream is optional but adds a delicious creamy contrast to the bars.
