Ingredients
1 pound ground breakfast sausage
cooked and drained
10 large eggs
scrambled
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet (or crescent rolls unrolled and pressed together)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper
to taste
Chopped parsley or green onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, and 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Roll out the crescent roll dough on a floured surface and cut it into rectangles.
- Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture onto each rectangle and roll them up tightly.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then whisk in the flour to create a roux.
- Gradually stir in the milk and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted; season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the breakfast rolls drizzled with the cheese sauce and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, if desired.
